About Orgemic
Understanding Organizations from Within
Organizations are often described through numbers, charts, and performance indicators. While such measures can provide valuable insights, they rarely capture the full reality of organizational life. Behind every metric lies a world of meanings, relationships, assumptions, and everyday practices that shape how people experience their work.
Orgemic was founded on a simple belief: before organizations can change, they must first understand themselves.
Our name combines two ideas: Organization and Emic. In anthropology, an emic perspective refers to understanding a social world from the viewpoint of those who live within it. Rather than imposing external assumptions, it seeks to uncover how people themselves make sense of their experiences, relationships, and practices.
We bring this perspective into the study of organizations.
Our Perspective
Many organizational interventions begin with predefined frameworks and standardized solutions. While such approaches may offer efficiency, they can overlook the unique realities that exist within each organization.
At Orgemic, we believe that organizations cannot be fully understood through metrics alone. Culture is not merely a set of survey scores, and employee experience cannot be reduced to a dashboard.
Organizations are living social worlds. They are shaped by stories, rituals, informal norms, power relations, shared assumptions, and everyday interactions.
Understanding these realities requires listening, observing, interpreting, and engaging with people as active participants in organizational life.
Our Approach
Our work combines the strengths of quantitative and qualitative inquiry.
Depending on the context, our projects may include:
- Organizational surveys
- Individual and group interviews
- Focus groups
- Observational studies
- Document and communication analysis
- Integrated qualitative and quantitative assessment
Rather than treating these methods as separate activities, we combine them to develop a richer and more nuanced understanding of organizational dynamics.
What We Do
We support organizations in understanding and addressing challenges related to:
- Organizational culture
- Organizational climate
- Employee engagement
- Employee satisfaction
- Leadership and management practices
- Organizational change and development
Our goal is not simply to generate data, but to produce meaningful insights that can support informed decision-making and sustainable organizational development.
What We Believe
We believe that meaningful organizational change begins with understanding.
We believe that every organization possesses a unique culture that cannot be fully captured through standardized models alone.
We believe that evidence matters, but interpretation matters as well.
Most importantly, we believe that organizations are best understood from within.
Let’s Start a Conversation
Whether you are seeking to understand your organizational culture, explore employee experiences, evaluate organizational dynamics, or design meaningful interventions, we would be glad to start a conversation.
Understanding comes before change.
And every meaningful change begins with understanding.
